The Molecular and Biomolecular Analysis Service (MoBiAS) provides analytical services and expertise in mass spectrometry and elemental analysis to researchers across a broad range of disciplines at the Department of Chemistry and Applied Biosciences, other ETH departments and affiliated institutes as well as in collaboration with industrial partners.

The Mass Spectrometry laboratory facilitate a range of research in organic chemistry, material sciences as well as in the interface to the biological and life sciences. We analyse synthetic organic compounds, polymers, peptides and intact proteins with state-of-the-art mass spectrometers. Besides providing MS analysis services the MoBiAS platform also maintains a number of Open-Access LC- and GC-MS instruments, which are available to the MoBiAS community 24/7.

The Elemental Analysis laboratory determines the mass fractions of Carbon, Hydrogen, Nitrogen and Heteroatoms of a variety of organic substances by combustion analysis as well and ionchromatography.
